Black Barbie

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket I've been infatuated with Barbie ever since I was a little girl. I was and still am a total "girly-girl". So when a friend mentioned to me that Vogue Italia was doing not only another Black issue but one that featured all black Barbie dolls, I was flabbergasted. I assure you I will be picking up my copy really soon. Sidenote: I saw "500 Days of Summer" today. The movie is pretty funny and all around a summer classic. Also my twitter account was hacked and now suspended so if you guys are looking to catch up with me, my twitter is out of commission until further notice. Believe me, I am pissed about that. Have a great weekend!

Animal Skin

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket Well now you see how my Fridays go. El Rey with babe and shooting on the train tracks. I kid you not I was constantly checking over my shoulder to make sure a train didn't come. I think I've fallen in love with Apricot/Peach/Coral colors for the summer it really does amazing on my skin. Brightens me up with out making myself look like a hi-liter. Speaking of summer, has anyone seen the movie "500 Days of Summer" yet? Photobucket I heard its really good and with Hall & Oats on the soundtrack, sounds like my kind of film. Kalvin likes his props on the pictorial! Show him love on his vimeo!

Florals and the Machine

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Loose Crop Top- American Apparel, Floral Print Tights- American Apparel, Flats- New York and Co., Earrings- Harwin Central Mart

Its hard to believe Summer is almost over. I've lived it thoroughly going to shows and festivals, working. If I could live the other 9 months of my life in a year like this I would be great. These floral leggings I have on are oh so comfortable. Even more so than my typical cotton leggings- the fabric of my life.

Lately I've been getting a lot of compliments on my hair even more than usual. I'm also getting approached a lot more by men who seem intrigued by my fro and won't let go. Literally! I find it kind of weird because I don't think my hair is big and wild but apparently others think so. I'm learning how to take care of it a bit better with my au natural steez. Have a great Thursday! Natural Hair Treasures

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to visit The Original Fragrance Shop here in Houston. The goodies we bought are so awesome I just have to tell ya! Photobucket
He bought the Detangling shampoo and the Hair and Scalp Moisturizer and I bought the Hair Pudding Conditioner and Hair butter. I promptly washed my hair with the Detangling Shampoo and applied the Hair Pudding conditioner.
PhotobucketPhotobucket Photobucket The curl definition I got with the two products alone was phenomenal. I thought the front of my hair was permanently damaged from heat but it curled and coiled as if I never touched it before! At night I twisted my hair and tucked it in and this morning I unraveled the hair and applied the hair butter. (Which smells amazing) Photobucket This is the finishing look of my hair! Photobucket Photobucket   I met the owner and I actually got to physically see the kitchen where she handmade and bottled the products herself! I will return soon to purchase the hair elixir and growth aids as well.

As a natural, I can declare these are some of the best products I've used thus far! "But don't take my word for it" Try it yourself! The website is The Original Fragrance Shop or if you're in Houston,TX like myself you can head on over to: The Original Fragrance Shop 5325 Aldine Mail Rt. My Video Review:

Mexicatessen

Photobucket Photobucket Wandering around the Heights, I found this abandoned Mexicatessen which is kind of like a delicatessen that serves Mexican food I presume. It rained so this is pretty much the extent of the pics I could get. Happy Friday! Photobucket most delicious cookies in the world! I'm glad Mother's cookies is making them again!

Wanna be like Mike

I'm still debating which memorial Michael Jackson shirts I want to get to commemorate the King of Pop. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket So far the last two are seemingly the best to me via Michael's own website.

Root Canal

Today I went in to seal my root canal. I never want to have another in life. I feel like I will take care of my teeth 1000% better than before. Pass the dental floss please! Photobucket Photobucket Vintage GAP vest-Thrifted, Bandeau Bodysuit- American Apparel, Grey Pique Bloomers- American Apparel, Oxford Saddle Shoes- Payless I bought these Oxford Saddle shoes in 2007. I was going through a hardcore psychobilly, vintage 50's pin-up stage in my life [insert insane picture here] Photobucket And seemingly, I needed to keep it authentic down to the saddle shoes, bobby socks and cupcake dresses. I still dig the style very much and turn to it when I look for experimentation in elegance. Side note: 2000 visitors to the blog! Thanks to everyone who has been checking it out and commenting! I love to hear from you guys! What do you want to see more of on the blog? Outfits? Hair? Fashion updates? DIY projects? Let me know! rinnyriot@gmail.com

What the...Forever 21?

Photobucket Yes its true all these dresses are from Forever 21. Mark my words "when it is time for one's pay to be received, thou shalt cop these dresses." I love their use of floral in the summer season. It reminds me of Betsey Johnson alot, one of my favorite designers by the way. I love funky florals because they can always play down my rocker-chic combat boots.
